An iron fort with impressive architecture and scenic beauty located near Lonavala. The fort dates back to 1564 CE and was later strengthened by Shivaji Maharaj. Known for the famous Vinchu Kata (Scorpion's tail) - a narrow ridge extending from the fort. The fort features four main gates and becomes especially beautiful during monsoon with numerous waterfalls. Visapur Fort is visible from Lohagad. The trek is relatively easy making it perfect for beginners and families. The fort is surrounded by Pawna Lake and offers stunning views during all seasons.

How to Reach

Located 12 km from Lonavala. Easily accessible by road from Mumbai (96 km) and Pune (64 km). Parking available at Lohagad village. Trek duration: 1-2 hours. Regular trains to Lonavala from Mumbai and Pune.
