
A historic fortress famous for the Battle of Sinhagad fought in 1670. Known for its military architecture and the legendary story of Tanaji Malusare who sacrificed his life capturing this fort. The name Sinhagad means "Lion's Fort" and lives up to its name with impressive fortifications. The fort offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and is a popular destination for trekkers and history enthusiasts. The local specialty "Zunka Bhakar" and "Pithla Bhakri" are must-try dishes available at the fort.
Located 30 km southwest of Pune city. Regular PMPML buses available from Swargate to Sinhagad. Private vehicles can reach the top. Trekking route available from Khadakwasla (4 km trek).
